Luis Enrique Sotelo Alemán is a respected Taekwondo instructor and former elite international competitor whose career is defined by perseverance, discipline, and an unwavering belief in never giving up. Living by his personal motto, “Never surrender,” Luis has transformed every challenge into an opportunity for growth, both as an athlete and as a leader.

During his competitive career, Luis was selected as a National Team Junior Pre-Selection athlete for Nicaragua from 2010 to 2014, and later as a National Team Senior for Nicaragua from 2015 to 2017, representing his country at top-level national and international events. His international achievements include a gold medal at the Costa Rica Taekwondo Open, a 5th-place finish at the Pan American Junior Taekwondo Championships in Querétaro, Mexico, and a gold medal at the Central American Taekwondo Championships. He also earned top-five finishes at major events such as the USA Open and the CODICADER Student Games.

After transitioning from athlete to coach, Luis focused his passion on developing others. As a trainer, he has helped produce multiple national and international champions, emphasizing strong fundamentals, mental toughness, and character development. His coaching philosophy goes beyond winning medals—he is committed to shaping disciplined, confident, and respectful martial artists.

Luis has proudly served as a Taekwondo Instructor with United Martial Arts for over five years, where he continues to inspire athletes to push past their limits and believe in their potential. His long-term vision is to be a proud Latin American and Nicaraguan representative in the United States, demonstrating that dedication, humility, and perseverance can turn dreams into reality.
